All the qualified Electors of Sac County, Iowa are hereby notified that a Combined City/School Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
 
ALL POLLS IN SAC COUNTY OPEN AT 7:00 A.M. AND WILL CLOSE AT 8:00 P.M.
PLEASE NOTE:  ALL LOCATIONS FOR THE COMBINED CITY/SCHOOL ELECTION ARE THE SAME AS YOUR GENERAL ELECTION POLLING LOCATONS.
 
Please read this notice carefully to determine your correct voting location.  If you are unsure of your polling place for this election, please contact the Sac County Auditor & Commissioner of Elections at 712-662-7310 or by email at [email protected].

Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot.  Voters who are not pre-registered, such as voters registering to vote on Election Day and voters changing precincts, must also provide proof of residence.  A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) may have voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the Sac County Auditor’s office by Monday, November 10 at 12:00pm.  Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification.  For additional information about providing proof of identity and/or residence visit:  https://sos.iowa.gov/voterid or phone 712-662-7310.
                                               
Voter pre-registration deadline is 5:00pm on Monday, October 20, 2025 at the Sac County Auditor’s office.
Absentee ballots are available for in-person absentee voting in the County Auditor’s office during regular business hours, 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday – Friday, beginning Wednesday, October 15, 2025.  Monday, October 20, 2025, is the last day absentee ballots can be MAILED to voters.  Absentee ballots cannot be mailed to persons who have not registered to vote.  Unregistered voters may submit a completed voter registration form with their absentee ballot application if the completed forms will be received in the Auditor’s Office by Monday, October 20, 2025.  Persons registering to vote after this date shall not be mailed an absentee ballot, but may vote in person at the Sac County Auditor’s Office until 5:00pm on Monday, November 3, 2025, upon providing proof of identity and residency.  Voters may check the status of their absentee ballot by contacting the Sac County Auditor’s Office or at www.sos.iowa.gov/elections/absenteeballotstaus/search.

PUBLIC TEST OF VOTER EQUIPMENT
 
The public test of Sac County’s voter equipment to be used in the November 4 City/School Election will commence at 10:00am on October 27, 2025 in the Sac County Courthouse and will continue until completed. Shall the Board of Directors of the East Sac County Community School District, in the Counties of Sac, Crawford, and Carroll, State of Iowa, for the purpose of purchasing and improving grounds; constructing schoolhouses or buildings and opening roads to schoolhouses or buildings; purchasing of buildings; purchase, lease or lease-purchase of technology and equipment; paying debts contracted for the erection or construction of schoolhouses or buildings, not including interest on bonds; procuring or acquisition or libraries; repairing, remodeling, reconstructing, improving, or expanding the schoolhouses or buildings and additions to existing schoolhouses; expenditures for energy conservation; renting facilities under Iowa Code Chapter 28E; purchasing transportation equipment for transporting students; lease purchase option agreements for school buildings or equipment; purchasing equipment authorized by law; or for any purpose or purposes now or hereafter authorized by law, be authorized for a period of five (5) years to levy annually a voter-approved physical plant and equipment property tax not to exceed an additional Thirty-Four Cents ($0.34) per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) of the assessed valuation of the taxable property within the school district commencing with the levy for collection in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027, or each year thereafter, it being understood that if this public measure should fail to be approved by the voters, such failure shall not be construed to terminate or restrict authority previously granted by the voters to levy and impose a special tax for any one or more of the foregoing purposes?

Shall the Board of Directors of the Iowa Central Community College in the Counties of Boone, Buena Vista, Calhoun, Carroll, Cherokee, Clay, Crawford, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Humboldt, Ida, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Sac, Webster and Wright, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation bonds to provide funds to remodel, improve, repair, construct, erect, furnish, and equip buildings and additions to buildings for educational and workforce training, to make improvements to sites and acquire land, to contract indebtedness therefore, and issue its school bonds in an amount not exceeding $35,000,000 for those purposes?
