The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Mike
Fischer, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to consider a
maintenance contract for the courthouse elevator. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes
all, motion carried.
The Chairman of the Board of Supervisors administered the Oath of Office to Supervisor
Ranell Drake, Sheriff Ken McClure and Auditor Jim Dowling, all of whom were re-elected on
November 5, 2024.
The Board reviewed the status of the American Rescue Plan funds in order to appropriate all
the funds by December 31, 2024, as required.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to amend the request from Secondary
Roads for ARP funds to add an additional $18,210.00 for an emergency generator project. Ayes all,
motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to rescind the motion and change the
amount to $17,770 for Secondary Roads generator project. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to appropriate the remaining ARP funds to
Sac County Conservation for repairs to the Sauk Rail Trail and to use any accrued interest from the
ARP funds for maintenance of the Courthouse elevator. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to set a date for a public hearing on a
budget amendment for Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the
status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the claims as listed on the
claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution 24-12-1 O approving the
transfers of $450,972.00 from Rural Basic fund to Secondary Road fund and $43,261.75 from
General Basic fund to Secondary Road fund. Ayes Drake, Wissler and Fischer; nays none, motion
carried.
The Board and the County Attorney reviewed a proposed contract with Kone and Co for
maintenance and repairs on the Courthouse elevator.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to table any action on the contract until December
17, 2024. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
