  • All inbound loads must be tarped (covered)
  • All Material brought to the facility can not be longer than 6 Feet
  • Any loads containing material longer than 6 feet will be subject to a $100 fine and/or load rejection

​Household Hazardous Waste Regional Collection Center 
Items Accepted:
  • ​Cleaning Products: bleach, drain cleaners, floor polish, furniture polish, oven cleaners, rug and upholstery cleaners, rust removers, spot removers
  • Fluorescent Light Tubes and Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
  • Automotive Products: antifreeze, brake fluid, cleaners, degreasers, fuels, motor oil, oil filters, waxes, windshield washer fluid
  • Cooking Oil: (though not hazardous, this can be re-used)
  • Household Pesticides: weed killers, bug killers, fungicides
  • Paint: latex and oil, spray paint, stains
  • (Latex paint can be dumped on newspaper and left to dry-then can go in garbage.)
  • Rechargeable batteries of all types

The following tips will make your visit to the Sac County Household Hazardous Waste Facility more efficient:
  • Leave materials in their original containers.
  • Be prepared to show your driver's license.
  • Be prepared to complete a short questionnaire concerning the products you are bringing to the Collection Center.
  • Any unlabeled items will be accepted but an additional questionnaire may be required.
  •  Buy fewer disposable items to save money and resources.
  •  Recycle plastic shopping bags at stores.
  •  Shredded office paper should be bagged separately.  
  •  Donate unwanted clothes, toys and household goods to a charitable organization or homeless shelter.  
  •  Compost your kitchen and garden waste at home. This could reduce your waste by 25% and fertilize soil in your garden.
  • Buy products that have less packaging.
  • When shopping take your own reusable shopping bags. ​​
