The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to amend the agenda to consider a request for funding for a dog park. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
Denise Ballard with the Iowa Governmental Health Care Plan presented a renewal plan for the County's employee health care coverage. Several options were offered. No action was taken.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve retainage payment on the asphalt overlay project on County Road M 50 to Fort Dodge Asphalt Company in the amount of $26,284.80. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board of Supervisors and the County Attorney met with representatives from Mid American Energy to discuss ordinance pertaining to a solar farm. No action was taken.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the claims listed on the claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to accept a quote from Carroll Controls for $6,800 to install baseboard heaters in the jury room and two adjacent rooms. Ayes all, motion carried.
Barb Rench and Kathy Brenny, members of the Bark Park Committee, were present to promote a dog park in Sac City and requested funds from the special projects fund. it was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to allocate $5,000 to the dog park project. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
