The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Dale Duncan, Sac City Fire Chief, was present to explain a dry hydrant and how it will be used to fight fires in the country and other uses. Duncan asked if there were any funds available to help with the cost of the hydrant, which was estimated to be about $8,000. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to allocate $4,000 from the special projects fund for the dry hydrant. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to direct the Chairman to sign a letter of support from the Board of Supervisors supporting the dog park in Sac City. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve an application for a tile crossing in the right of way between sections 14 and 15, Boyer Valley Township. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to appoint Sherrie Wilson to the Sac County Planning and Zoning Board to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Dorothy Evans. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board continued discussion regarding the County's group health care coverage 25/26 fiscal year. No action was taken.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the claims for repairs on joint DD 59, Calhoun and 7, Sac for $1,400 and $350. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the drainage claims as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
At 10:45, the Chairman opened the public hearing on establishing the Sac County Emergency Medical Services as an essential service and imposing a local option income surtax and/or an ad valorem property tax for such service. There was no one present to support or oppose the proposed ordinance.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to close the public hearing. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to waive the second and third readings of the ordinance Number 25-0318 and cause said ordinance to be published in the official Sac County newspapers. Ayes Drake, Fischer, Wissler; nays none, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
