The Sac Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Mike
Fischer, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to amend the agenda to consider
insurance renewal. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes
all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the
status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve payment of final retain age in the
amount of $7,330.73 to Peterson Construction for project L-CO-1403-73-81, a box culvert on the
Sac and Ida County line. Ayes all, motion carried. It was noted that Ida County would reimburse
Sac County for half of the project costs.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the Recorder's quarterly report
for the quarter ending June 30, 2024. Ayes all, motion carried.
Sheriff McClure and Chief Deputy Stange requested a closed session with the Board. It was
moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to go into closed session at 10:15 am. Ayes Drake,
Wissler, and Fischer; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to go out of closed session at 10:22. Ayes
all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the claims as listed on the
claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
Blake Mohr with Colburn Insurance updated the Board on County property and liability
insurance renewal for fiscal year 24/25. The renewal included a 28% increase in premium due to a
basic rate increase and an increase in property values. It was moved by Drake and seconded by
Wissler to approve the premium renewal and direct the Chairman to sign the appropriate
documents. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board and Mr. Mohr discussed a deductible buy down policy for catastrophic wind and
hail damage. No action was taken.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
