The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Rick Hecht, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to consider a letter of support and monetary consideration for the Auburn/Grant Park bike trail, the Recorder’s quarterly report and an update from the County Sheriff. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
Several Sac County residents were present to speak to the Board during the Citizen input segment of the agenda regarding the zoning ordinances regulating wind turbines in Sac County. Jim Meyer read an open letter to the Board in support of the wind turbine project, encouraging the Board to reconsider their recommendation of a one half mile setback for the turbines and support the 1700’ recommendation as set out by the planning and zoning board. Others present at the meeting spoke in opposition to the project. No action was taken.
Jane Barto informed the Board that an anonymous donor had come forth with a generous donation for the bike trail from Auburn to Grant Park and that the group was still looking for additional funding and support.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve a letter of support for the bike trail and $5,000 in matching funds. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to approve an invoice for $2800 submitted by Healy Excavating for repairs on Joint Drainage District 274, Sac and Buena Vista Counties. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve a proposed tile repair in the amount of $2,750 submitted by Marty Mauer in DD 6 located in Section 9, Coon Valley twp. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to approve the County Recorder’s quarterly report for the quarter ending March 31, 2018. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Sheriff informed the Board of the resignation of James Hoffard as Sac County dispatcher and that he will be searching for a replacement.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
The Board, the Engineer and the Planning and Zoning Officer discussed an application for exemption of separation of distance requirements from public thoroughfare. No action was taken.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve the Engineer’s DOT 5 year construction plan and budget. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
