The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jim Wissler, Chairman, presiding. T he minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion, carried.
Sheriff Ken McClure introduced John J. Hanson, President of Midwest Construction Consultants to continue discussion about building a jail. Mr. Hanson is currently providing consulting services for Palo Alto County and Pocahontas County on their jail projects.
After some discussion, it was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to direct Mr. Hanson to develop a feasibility study on a new jail for Sac County with the cost of the study to be $9,000.00, Ayes all, motion carried.
Representatives for Congressman Randy Feenstra and Senator Joni Ernst visited the Board to update them on the agendas and take questions for Feenstra and Ernst.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to adopt Resolution 23-0404 supporting the application for voluntary annexation to the City of Odebolt, from Pat Hoefling and Janet Thomson which would annex Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Cottage Grove Addition to Odebolt, Sac County. Ayes Drake, Fischer and Wissler; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve application for American Rescue Plan funds for the purchase of a confined space drone for the Sheriff and EMA in the amount of $1,178.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the Sheriff’s quarterly report for the quarter ending March 31, 2023. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer submitted his report on activities of the county road crews and the status of the current maintenance and construction projects.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
