The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jim
Wissler, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all,
motion carried.
Sheriff Ken McClure informed the Board that Joel Suggitt had been hired as deputy sheriff and
will start in September.
The Sheriff requested permission to hire additional staff for the business office due to the
upcoming resignation of Berlin Auen and another dispatcher position which was approved on a motion
by Fischer and second by Drake.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to conduct a public hearing on September 19,
2023, at 10:30 to consider an amendment to the current County budget. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of
current maintenance and construction projects and the detour on County Road M43.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to adopt Resolution 23-0822A, to accept the low
bid of $85,400.00 submitted by Nelson & Rock for bridge abutment repair, project L-BV-2830- 73-81 and
authorize the County Engineer to sign and execute contracts for the project. Ayes Drake, Fischer and
Wissler; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution 23-0822B, to accept the low
bid of $90,600.00 submitted by Nelson & Rock for bridge abutment repair, project L-Rl-2701-73-81 and
authorize the County Engineer to sign and execute contracts for the project. Ayes Drake, Fischer and
Wissler; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve pay application number 4 in the
amount of $42,624.04 to Reutzel Excavating for work done on Joint Drainage District 20, Sac and 119,
Calhoun. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
