The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Drake and Wilhelm present. Supervisor Wissler was absent. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Justin Barlow, Sac County Assessor and the County Auditor discussed funding for updating the aerial photography for Sac County through Eagleview. The proposal was to budget part of the funding in the 20/21 budget and part in the 21/22 budget. The Auditor would include partial funding in each of the general county budgets and the Assessor would include partial funding in the Assessor budget. The Board agreed to consider the proposal and suggested that the preliminary budgets reflect the expenditure.
The assessor and the Supervisors discussed procedure for considering tax abatements in the rural areas of the County. The Supervisors requested that the Assessor’s office receive the application for abatement, make recommendation to the Board and the Board would give final approval/disapproval.
The Sac County Sheriff updated the Board on a proposed new communication system for Sac County. A consultant could be retained for approximately $12,000 to determine the needs for upgrading the system. The Board will consider the consultant fee at the December 31, 2019 regular board meeting.
The Board recognized Jo Ellerbrock for her 45 years of service to Sac County and thanked her for her dedication.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve the drainage claims as presented. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
The Board and the Engineer reviewed a proposed preliminary budget for secondary roads for fiscal year 20/21. No action was taken.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
