The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Mike
Fischer, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to consider a request for
ARP funds. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all,
motion carried.
Brian Blomme, Drainage Engineer for Sac, Calhoun and Buena Vista Counties, presented his
budget for fiscal year 24/25. No action was taken.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve a request from Sac Economic and
Tourism Development for ARPA funding to dig a well in the property at the intersection of Highways 20
and 71 in the amount of $50,000. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the County Treasurer's Semi-annual
report for the period beginning July 1, 2023, and ending December 31, 2023. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of
current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the retainage payment to Peterson
Contractors in the amount of $7,283.54 for project BROS - CO81(83) - - 8J81, a box culvert on 270th St.
Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to adopt Resolution 24-0130, accepting the low
bid of $297,403.72 for project BROS - CO81(94) - - 8J - 81 submitted by Rognes Brothers Excavating, Inc
and to designate and authorize Nick Buse, County Engineer, to sign the contract on DOC Express. Ayes
Wissler, Drake, and Fischer; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution 24-0130B, accepting the
low bid of $902,850.00 for project FM - CO81(89) - - 55 - 81 submitted by Fort Dodge Asphalt Company
and to designate and authorize Nick Buse, County Engineer, to sign the contract on DOC Express. Ayes
Drake, Wissler, and Fischer; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the Sac County Substance Abuse
Prevention and Treatment Semi-Annual report for the periodbeginning July 1, 2023, and ending
December 31, 2023. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake, that Sac County enter into a contract with the
Boards of Trustees of the public libraries in Auburn, Early, Lake View, Lytton, Odebolt, Sac City, Schaller,
and Wall Lake, to provide library service to the unincorporated areas of the County. Ayes all, motion
carried.
