The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present. Brent Wilhelm, acting as temporary chairperson, called the meeting to order. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to appoint Ranell Drake as chairman for 2022. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to designate The Sac Sun and The Chronicle as official Sac County newspapers for 2022. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the following committee assignments: Wissler – Sac County Endowment, ICAP, DD181 interim, Landfill Board, County Conservation Board, Alternate to 2nd Judicial District, Mental Health Advisory Board, SETD and Hometown Pride; Wilhelm – DHS, Ambulance, REAP, ISTEA, New Opportunities, Second Judicial District, Public Health and Rolling Hills Regional Mental Health; Drake – Region XII Council of Governments, Youth Emergency Service, DECAT, ISTEA, Community Empowerment, Workforce Development, Hazmat, EMA and E911. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to close the courthouse in observance of the following holidays; January 17 – Martin Luther King Day, February 21 – President’s Day, April 15 – Friday before Easter (afternoon), May 30 – Memorial Day, July 4 – Independence Day, September 5 – Labor Day, November 11 – Veteran’s Day, November 24 & 25 – Thanksgiving weekend, December 23 – Christmas Eve, December 26 – Christmas Day and December 30 – New Year’s Day. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the Sheriff’s quarterly report for the quarter ending December 31, 2021. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
Several representatives from the libraries in Sac County presented a review of activities in 2021 and requested a 4% increase in funding for 2022/23. No action was taken.
The County Engineer updated the Board on the activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects and a brief update on the Black Hawk Lake dredge project.
At 10:30, the Chairman opened the public hearing on the proposed re-precincting plan for Sac County. There were no written or oral comments supporting or opposing the plan.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to close the public hearing. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to waive the first and second reading of an ordinance establishing the voting precincts in Sac County and adopting the same. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve a Memorandum of Agreement between Sac County and the City of Sac City to have one combined precinct, namely Precinct 4, described as the City of Sac City and Jackson Township. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve an explanation supporting the definition and boundaries of the new precincts in Sac County. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
