The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present. Jim Wissler, temporary Chairman, called the meeting to order. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to appoint Brent Wilhelm as Chairman for 2021. Ayes all, motion carried.
Representatives from the City of Lake View including Mayor John Westergard, City Administrator Scott Peterson and Council person Vicki Toms, presented a proposal for a community center project in Lake View. Part of the presentation was to request funding for the project in the amount of $50,000 over a two year period.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to commit $10,000 a year for two years to the project. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
Sherrie Kastein with the Family Crisis Center met via telephone conference with the Board to request funding for 21/22. No action was taken.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution #21-0105 pursuant to Iowa Code 459.304(3) adopting the construction evaluation resolution relating to the construction of a confinement feeding operation structure. Ayes: Drake, Wissler and Wilhelm; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the following committee assignments for 2021; Wissler – Sac County Endowment, ICAP, DD181 interim, Landfill Board, County Conservation Board, Alternate to 2nd Judicial District, Mental Health Advisory Board, SETD, and Hometown Pride; Wilhelm – DHS, Ambulance, REAP, ISTEA, New Opportunities, Second Judicial District, Public Health and Rolling Hills Regional Mental Health; Drake – Region XII Council of Governments, Youth Emergency Services, DECAT, ISTEA, Community Empowerment, Workforce Development, Hazmat, EMA and E911. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake close the courthouse in observance of the following holidays; January 18 – Martin Luther King Day, February 15 – President’s Day, April 2 – Friday before Easter (afternoon), May 31 – Memorial Day, July 5 – Independence Day, September 6 – Labor Day, November 11 – Veteran’s Day, November 25 & 26 – Thanksgiving weekend, December 24 Christmas Eve and December 31 New Year’s Eve. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
