The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Rick Hecht, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
During the Citizen input portion of the meeting, Bruce Perry, Sac City Councilman, shared information regarding the street scape meeting at the council chambers at 6:00 and invited them to attend. Perry also requested the county’s participation in the mentoring program to be held on August 10 and asked if the parking lot at the south annex could be used for that activity. No action was taken.
Brian Buehler of Odebolt read a statement regarding manufacturer’s regulation on wind turbine construction.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve a claim in the amount of $206.41 submitted by the Pocahontas County Secondary Roads for material and labor for repairs in DD Quad 181 Little Cedar and a claim in the amount of $472.90 submitted by the Pocahontas County Secondary Roads for material and labor for repairs in DD 181 Little Cedar Creek. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to approve the drainage claims as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to approve a proposed tile repair in JT DD 1, Sac and 40, Calhoun located in Section 19, Garfield Township in the amount of $500.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
Sheriff McClure reported damage to the communication center as well as some computers in the jail and sheriff’s office as a result of a lightning strike during the night of June 18, 2018. It has been reported to the insurance company.
At 10:30 the Board considered the second reading of an ordinance entitled 6.14.045, Wind Energy Regulations and Definitions. It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to add item “G” in Section 6.14.047, paragraph 3 to include “event centers” and designating The Prairie Pedlar as an event center. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to waive the third reading and approve the ordinance as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
The Board and the Engineer visited via telephone conference with the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors regarding the County Engineer’s contract for fiscal year 2018/19. The Sac County Board of Supervisors will consider the contract renewal on June 26, 2018.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
