The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with two members present, Jim Wissler was absent. Brent Wilhelm, Chairman, presided over the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to accept and approve the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Sac County and the Sac County Professional Paramedic Association with included a 2.75% pay increase. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 63, located in Section 26, Delaware Township, in the amount of $800.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a proposed bank slide repair in Joint DD 16-30-92 located in Section 12, Douglas Township, Sac County, in the amount of $5,200.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve application for approval of construction of underground phase III line through parts of DD 71, 71Mutual, 18 and 84 submitted by Mid American Energy Company. Ayes all, motion carried.
Blake Mohr with Colburn Insurance presented options for the County’s general liability coverage for fiscal year 21/22 renewal. The Board and the agent will continue to review options for deductibles.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the County road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
The Board met with the Calhoun County Board to discuss the employment contract with the County Engineer. At the request of the Engineer, it was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to go into closed session pursuant to Iowa Code 21.5(i) to discuss wages. Ayes Drake and Wilhelm; nays none, motion carried. Wissler was absent. The Calhoun County Board went into closed session at the same time; 10:32 am.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to go out of closed session at 10:50. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a 6% salary increase for the county engineer for 2021/22 making the total salary $103,350. Calhoun County approved the same motion. Calhoun County holds the contract for the Engineer and Sac County reimburses Calhoun County for half of the salary.
Jim Bullock, Sac County EMA Director, gave the Board an update on the on-line bidding for a mobile command unit. The current bid is $22,500 with the bidding to close at 7:00 pm on June 23. The Board suggested that Bullock bid to $45,000.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
