The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve an application for American Rescue Plan money in the amount of $6,619 submitted by the Youth Emergency Services located in Cherokee, Iowa. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve an application to be submitted to the Secretary of State’s office for a $10,000 HAVA cybersecurity grant to be used for election security. Ayes all, motion carried.
Blake Mohr with Colburn Insurance presented a quote summary for the County’s insurance coverage through Iowa Communities Assurance Pool which included an increase of $51,011 for 22/23. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the quote on the renewal and to look at bigger deductibles on certain areas. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to appropriate the funds for the 22/23 County budget as approved at the budget hearing on March 29, 2022. Ayes Drake and Wisler; nays Wilhelm, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to re-assign $1,162 from Court ordered detention to Victim/witness coordinator lines items, both of which are in the County Attorney budget. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve claims as listed ion the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the drainage claims as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer submitted a written update of the activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
The Board and the County Treasurer discussed a tax sale certificate on a certain property in Sac City. No action was taken pending an opinion from the County Attorney.
Representatives from S.E.T.D, Raccoon Valley R.E.C., Corn Belt Power met with the Board of Supervisors and the County Attorney t discuss a development plan for a piece of property located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 20 and U.S. Highway 71. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the development agreement and to appoint Brandy Ripley, SETD Executive Director as Sac County’ representative on the management team. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
