The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisor Fischer absent. Jim Wissler, Chairman, presided over the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to enter into Opioid Settlement agreements with Allegren, Teva, CVS, Walgreen’s and Walmart and authorize the County Auditor’s office to submit electronic documents. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve a Federal-Aid agreement with the Iowa D.O.T for Project BROS-CO81(90)—8J81 on 270th Street, east of Otter Ave for an estimated cost of $315,000.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve a Federal-Aid agreement with the Iowa D.O.T. for Project BROS-CO81(91)—8J81 on Gard Avenue for an estimated cost of $160,000. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to appoint Danny King as Jackson Township Trustee to fill the vacancy created by the passing of Kim Laursen. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve change order #2 on the courthouse HVAC project to add a second circulation pump to serve as a backup to the system’s main pump in the amount of $6,125.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board recessed until 11:00 am at which time the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors joined the Sac County Board for a bid letting on Joint DD 20 - 119.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Jacobs of Calhoun County that Jim Wissler serve as chairman for the joint meeting and Jim Dowling serve as secretary. Ayes all, motion carried.
Those in attendance included Calhoun Supervisors Scott Jacobs, Carl Legore and Scott Becker; Auditor Robin Batz and Deputy Auditor Leah Hinkleman; Sac County Supervisors Ranell Drake and Jim Wissler, Auditor Jim Dowling and Deputy Auditor Renee Roland; Drainage Engineer Brian Blomme and five contractors.
Engineer Blomme presented a short overview of the projects, an addendum regarding a change on the title sheet and listed five bds and bonds that had been filed in a timely fashion.
The bids were opened and read as follows: L.A. Carlson - $325,630.25, Reutzel Excavating - $213,287.79; Ingraham Construction - $325,517.85; Healy Excavating - $353,297.50; Strutzenburg Farm Drainage - $289,516.05; Quality Drainage Solutions - $249,030.25; Empire Drainage - $312,589.00.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Becker to accept the low bid of $213,287.79 submitted by Reutzel Excavating contingent on the Engineer’s review of the bid numbers. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
