The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Rick Hecht, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
Molly Scott with Prevent Child Abuse presented a proclamation on behalf of PCA. It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to direct the Chairman to sign the proclamation declaring April as Prevent Child Abuse month. Ayes all. Motion carried.
Mark Zaccone and Nick Matchen with Invenergy were present to make recommendations regarding certain provisions of the proposed wind turbine ordinance. Several Sac County residents spoke to the Board in regard to setbacks and other zoning requirements for Sac County’s ordinance. After much discussion, it was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to make the recommendation to the Planning and Zoning Board to require one-half mile setback from any county or state owned property, urban transition zones and rural residences. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was noted that the recommendations made by the Supervisors will now move back to the Planning and Zoning Board for their decisions to be made.
Ken McClure, Sac County Sheriff, was present to discuss the possibility of lowering the tower height to 160 feet. No action was taken at this time.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects. Included in the update was confirmation of new hire, Eric Yunginger for the Assistant to the Engineer II position and an update on Hwy 20. Highway 20 will close from Galva to Early beginning April 2, 2018, to complete the four lane construction.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve the contract with Vogel Traffic Services for 2018 pavement markings in the amount of $51,757.21. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to approve final retainage payment to Godbersen Smith for the Lake View bridge project. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve claims in the amount of $183,777.31, as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to approve drainage claims in the amount of $2,449.90, as presented. Ayes all. Motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
