The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
The East Sac County School fourth graders presented and read a proclamation proclaiming the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and asked the Board of Supervisors to support it. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the proclamation. Ayes all, motion carried.
Scot McDonough, Sac County EMS Director, submitted a request for the Board to consider the purchase of three automatic cots for the county ambulances at a cost of approximately $101,480. McDonough suggested using the ambulance set-aside dollars in the amount of $70,000 to help pay for the new costs and to secure some grant money to help pay for the balance. No action was taken.
Mike Bourland from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship discussed a project to create a permanent wetland in Section 35, Viola Township and asked the Board as Trustees for the drainage district 54, for permission to block certain parts of the district tile to create the wetland.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the request as proposed. Ayes all, motion carried.
Sherrie Wilson, Sac County Planning and Zoning officer, presented two master matrix plans for confinement animal feeding operations. The Benson Finisher site, located in Section 35, Sac Township, had a score of 465 points, 40 points above the minimum requirement.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the master matrix on the Benson Finisher site. Ayes Wilhelm and Drake; nays Wissler, motion carried.
The Hawk Finisher site, located in Section 30 Wheeler Township scored 485 points. It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the master matrix on the Hawk Finisher site. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to award a contract to Nelson & Rock Contracting in the amount of $259,768.50 for project L-JA-2007—73-81. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to award a contract to Richards Construction Company in the amount of $38,830.00 for Project L-CO-3403—73-81. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
