The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Mrs. Schroeder’s East Sac third graders presented and read a proclamation designating April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to direct the Chairman to sign the proclamation. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a proposed tile repair in Drainage District 66 located in Section 23, Delaware Township in the amount of $800. Ayes all, motion carried.
Representatives from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for the State of Iowa presented a plaque of recognition to Norma Hecht for her strong support and service to the County Attorney’s’ office during County Attorney Ben Smith’s deployment.
Loren Burbach, Jackson Township Trustee was present to explain a request for funding for a project at the Cory Grove Cemetery. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a request of $5,000 from the Special Projects fund for the purchase of fence material for the cemetery. Ayes all, motion carried.
At 10:30, the Chairman opened the public hearing for the proposed 2022/23 Sac County budget. There was one person present with question regarding the proposal.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to close the public hearing at 11:05. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to adopt the proposed county budget for 22/23 as presented. Ayes: Wissler and Drake, nays Wilhelm, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to adopt Resolution 22-0329 reducing by 20%, the County Compensation Board’s recommendation of an 8% salary increase for the Auditor, Attorney, Treasurer, Recorder and a 10% increase for the Sheriff. Also included in the motion was to reduce the recommendation for the Supervisors by 75%. Ayes Wissler and Drake: nays Wilhelm, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
