The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Brent Wilhelm, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
During the Citizen input, Steve Dahm made a brief comment about the lights on the wind turbines and his conversation with the County Attorney’s office.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to direct the Chairman to sign a letter of engagement with D. A. Davidson to serve Sac County as managing underwriter of proposed offering and issuance of bonds for a communication project. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to retain Rey Freeman as project manager for the communications project. Ayes Wissler and Drake; nays Wilhelm, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
The Chairman opened the public hearing, as advertised, to consider gifting a parcel of property to the City of Sac City. There were no written or oral comments to support or oppose the gift.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to close the public hearing. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to authorize and direct the Chairman to sign a Warranty Deed conveying Outlot 74, Section 23, Township 88 North, Range 36 West of the 5th PM in Sac City, Sac County, Iowa, to the City of Sac City. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Chairman then opened the public hearing, as advertised, to consider an amendment to the current Sac County budget. There was no one present to support or oppose the proposed amendment. The amendment included an increase in revenue of $114,332 and total expenditures of $160,224 for a net increase in expenditures of $45,892.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to close the public hearing. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the amendment to the current budget. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board of Supervisors met with the Calhoun County Board of Supervisors as trustees for Joint Drainage District 59 – Calhoun and & 7 – Sac to consider an improvement project to the district. Carl LeGore acted as chairman for the joint meeting and Leah Hinkleman acted as secretary. Brian Blomme, drainage engineer for Sac, Calhoun and Buena Vista Counties, along with Eric Yunginger, assistant to the engineer, were present in the Sac County Board room to make the presentation. He estimated the cost of the improvement to the district to be approximately $584,000.00.
It was moved by Becker and seconded by Wilhelm to direct the engineer and clerks to send out notices of an informational meeting to be held in Calhoun County. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Becker to set the informational meeting for Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 1:30 PM in the Wellness room of the Calhoun County Courthouse. Ayes all, motion carried.
The joint meeting was then adjourned.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve a proposed tile repair in Drainage District 26 located in Section 9, Cedar Township, in the amount of $200.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve a proposed tile repair in Drainage District 59, located in Section 4, Boyer Valley Township, in the amount of $1,000.00. ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
