The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Clarence Hansen and Jeff Hansen from Schaller addressed the Board regarding access to their turkey barns and machine shed of the new Highway 20. The Hansens contend that the grade on their new drive way off of Highway 20 is too steep and dangerous. The County Engineer will plan to attend a meeting with the D.O.T and the Hansens.
The Board took up the Canvass of the City elections held November 7, 2017, and offer the following results: Schaller; City Council, Matthew Biede – 148*, Marcy Hallengren – 100*, Jeff Hansen – 26, Kenneth D. Kroese – 96, David W. Schmidt – 120*, write-ins – 9. For City Council to fill a vacancy; Mike Bailey – 142*, Clarence Hansen – 19, write-ins – 4. Nemaha; For Mayor, Allen L. Olson – 7*. For City Council; Matthew Quealy – 8*, Kenyon Severson – 7*. Early; For City Council, William R. Cougill – 26*, Melissa Freese – 26*, Brian Pickhinke – 26*. Sac City; For City Council, Brian D. Martin – 206, Tom McGinty – 215*, Bruce Perry – 300*, Ray Von Ahn – 97. Lytton; For Mayor, Jeff Ellerbrock – 28*. The Board and Sheriff Ken McClure discussed the possibility of video visitation for the jail to restrict visitors in secured areas and texting for inmates. The Board agreed that both systems would be advantageous.
The County Engineer updated the board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve the drainage claims as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 62, located in Section 20, Delaware Twp in the amount of $1,000.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve a proposed open ditch repair in DD 71, located in Section 5 of Wall Lake Twp in the amount of $5,750.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
