The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present. Jim
Wissler, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to consider the
Treasurer's semi-annual report. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all,
motion carried.
Four members from the Iowa Soybean Association were present to discuss an Agricultural Clean
Water Initiative and a Farm to River Partnership to promote the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy. No
action was taken.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of
current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve plans and specs for a concrete box
culvert, Project BROS- CO81{94)-8J-81. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the Treasurer's semi-annual report
for the period ending June 30, 2023. Ayes all, motion carried.
At 10:45 AM, the Board met via telephone conference with the Calhoun County Board of
Supervisors as Trustees for Joint Drainage District 20-119.
It was moved by Drake from Sac and LeGore from Calhoun the Jim Wissler serve as chairman and
Jim Dowling serve as secretary. Ayes all, motion carried.
Brian Blomme, Eric Yunginger, assistant drainage engineer for Sac, Calhoun and Buena Vista
Counties, explained that the outlet of a district tile main was buried and not found during pipe
replacement operations and that a local contractor needed to be called in to install an 18" x 20' LF CMP
outlet pipe at a cost of approximately $750.00.
It was moved by Fischer from Sac and seconded by Becker from Calhoun to approve replacement
of the 18" x 20' LF CMP at a cost of $750.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Jacobs from Calhoun and seconded by Drake from Sac to adjourn the joint
meeting. Ayes all, motion carried.
Jane Barto presented a request for funding in the amount of $9,800.00 for the purchase and
installation of a rapid repeating flashing beacon light to be placed at the crossing of the Grant Park trail
and Xavier Avenue. It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to allocate $7,500.00 from Special
Projects fund to the project. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
