The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
When asked for citizen input, Jim Meyer requested an update on the Richland wind turbine project. The Chairman indicated that the wind turbine discussion was on the agenda at a later time.
Renee Jacobson and Scott Bundt, representing the John Criss Trust presented a second option for the sidewalk project in the Sac City Main Street Beautification Project which included four “bump-outs” and not replacing the sidewalks. The estimated cost of the “bump-outs” was $15,900.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to support the beautification project over a two year period for a total expenditure not to exceed $15,900. Ayes all, motion carried.
Dawn Mentzer, CEO of the Rolling Hills Agency, gave the Board of Supervisors an update of the past year’s activities and a breakdown of future projects and goals.
Evan Del Val presented the completion documents for the Dakota Access Pipeline Project.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve a building permit located in an urban transitional zone near Odebolt submitted by James Pierce at 3284 Fox Avenue. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve plans for bridge replacement in Section 16, Viola Township, Project BRS-SWAP-CO81(72)—FF-81. Ayes all, motion carried.
John Murray, Attorney from Storm Lake, Jenny Buehler, Kathy Larson and approximately seventeen other residents or landowners in the Richland Township area addressed the Board regarding easements in the Sac County road right-of-way for the Richland Wind Turbine connectivity. County Attorney Ben Smith was joined the meeting via telephone. County Engineer Zac Andersen was also present.
The group discussed several items concerning the project including road use agreement, the definition of transmission lines as opposed to distribution lines and building permits. More information will be forthcoming at next week’s meeting.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
