The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
During citizen input, Steve Dahm from Early asked the Board if the County Attorney had responded to his questions concerning the aviation lights on the wind turbines near Early, Iowa. The Chairman indicated that he would contact the County Attorney.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to authorize the Chairman to sign the Dept of Transportation agreements for Project BROS – CO81(83)—8J-81, a box culvert on 270th Street between Mace Avenue and Needham Ave. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the agreement for secondary road employees to obtain their commercial driver license. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board and the Engineer discussed a dust control cost agreement. No action was taken.
The American Rescue Plan committee presented their recommendations for fund allocations as follows: EMA – ipads, $1,000; Courthouse HVAC update - $$391,000; Public Health – computers and equipment, $120,000; E911 – communication updates, $84,896; Information Technology Dept – virtual environment system - $150,000. It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the recommendations as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Laurie Kluver, Sac County Veteran’s Services Coordinator, advised the Board that the computer system for the veteran’s memorial was in need of replacement and asked for assistance to cover the $8000 cost for replacement. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to contribute $5000 from the special projects fund for the equipment replacement. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the transfers of $39,944.75 from General Basic fund to Secondary Road fund and $446,199.75 from Rural Basic fund to Secondary Road fund. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
