The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in special session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The meeting was called at the request of the Sac County Auditor to inform the Board of technical issues with the voting machines in multiple counties on election day, June 7. Three voting machines in Sac County experienced a jam when a ballot was inserted into the tabulator, which caused the number on the tabulator to increase and lead to the appearance that more ballots were cast than voters who signed declarations of eligibility. The County Auditor, on advice from the Secretary of State’s office, requested permission from the Board to conduct an administrative recount of all races in precincts 4, 7 and 9.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to adopt Resolution 22-0608, authorizing the Sac County Auditor to conduct an administrative recount as prescribed by Iowa Code Section 50.50 for precincts 4 (Sac City), 7 (Lake View) and 9 (Wall Lake). Ayes Drake, Wilhelm and Wissler; nays none, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
