About Our County
Established in 1846, Sac County is a collection of 9 communities and home to nearly 9,000 residents. The county is named for the Sauk people, a local Native American tribe. Sac County is administered by a three-member Board of Supervisors who are elected for four-year terms. Other elected officials include the Attorney, Auditor, Recorder, Sheriff, and Treasurer.
