The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Brian and Jenny Buehler addressed the Board regarding the county ordinance regulating wind turbines and asked the new members to review and reconsider the zoning laws in Sac County.
Sheriff Ken McClure informed the Board that Deputy Brian Erritt had submitted his resignation effective June 30, 2019. The Board acknowledged receipt of his intent to retire and thanked Deputy Erritt for his nearly 30 years of service.
Sheriff McClure discussed two proposals for replacing the digital video recording system in the law enforcement center and placing an additional outdoor camera on the building. The first proposal was from Feld Equipment for $36,484.00 and the second from Electronic Engineering for $28,401.75. The Sheriff suggested using some of the jail commissary funds to pay for the project which has a current balance of $41,500.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to use commissary funds to replace the dvr system and to accept the low bid of $28,401.75 submitted by Electronic Engineering. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the drainage claims as submitted.
Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the notice of letting and plans for Project RI-2330 Bridge Abutment repair. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the status of Kirk Finley from part-time to full-time employee. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board and the Engineer discussed the progress of the Auburn to Grant City bike trail and the placing of a culvert and crossing in the right of way near the north end of the trail.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
