The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
David Jennett, Attorney for the City of Early, was present to request assignment of certain delinquent properties in the City of Early and abatement of taxes on those properties. Mr. Jennett stated that the City of Early would abate all of the special assessments against the properties.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to abate the taxes on Lot 4, the East 260’ of Lot 5 and the West 235’ of Lot 5, all in Drey’s Addition to the town of Early and assign those properties to the Town of Early. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the Recorder’s quarterly report for the quarter ending March 31, 2023. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve renewal of a liquor license issued to Trailside Roadhouse in Carnarvon, Iowa. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 28 Branch A located in Section 17, Sac Township in the amount of $1,800.00 Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 48, located in Section 24, Coon Valley Township in the amount of $500.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
At 10:30, the Chairman opened the public hearing to consider a maximum levy for the 23/24 Sac County budget. There was no one present to support or oppose the proposed levies.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to close the public hearing. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by to adopt Resolution 23-0411 to approve a maxi General Services levy not to exceed $5.35441 per thousand and a Rural Services levy not to exceed $3.52584 per thousand. Ayes Drake, Fischer and Wissler; nays none, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the County Secondary Road D.O.T budget and 5 – year construction program. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
