The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Rick Hecht, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to further discuss the future of the Sac County jail. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
There was no citizen input at the meeting.
Rhonda Lines, representing the Sac City Museum, presented a request to the Board to abate the taxes on the old Sac City Depot which had been given to the museum. It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to approve the abatement of the taxes on Lot 1, the East 10’ of Lot 2 and all of Lot 11, Block 21, Platt’s Addition to Sac City and the vacated railroad right of way adjacent. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Sheriff and the Board discussed the disposition of two used vehicles in the Sheriff’s department. A pickup will be used to trade on a new vehicle and a Ford Explorer will be sold. It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to consider sealed bids on the Explorer and directed the Auditor to publish notice. Ayes all, motion carried.
Chairman Hecht indicated that he had had a conversation with one of Calhoun County’s Supervisors and had gotten a commitment from Calhoun County to continue to bring prisoners to Sac County jail. It was the decision of the Sac County Board of Supervisors to continue to maintain the Sac County jail with a full staff and to house prisoners from Calhoun County as well as Sac County prisoners.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Stock to accept the low bid of $252,533.82 submitted by Ten Point Construction for the County Roads N28 / D36 intersection improvements. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Drake to approve the contract and bond with Ten Point Construction for the County Roads N28 / D36 intersection improvements. Ayes all, motion carried.
Kathy Evert, Sac County Hometown Pride Coach, presented that agency’s annual report of activities and projects in each of the participating Sac County communities.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
