The Sac County Board of Supervisors met with all members present, Brent Wilhelm, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to consider abating taxes on a certain property. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
There was no citizen input.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to abate the taxes on Lot 8, Block 1, Original Town of Early in the amount of $40,091.74, most of which included special assessments and penalties and interest. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution 21-1214 authorizing Sac County to enter into settlement agreements with certain drug companies to agree to terms of the Iowa Opiod Allocation Memorandum of Understanding and authorize entry into that Memorandum of Understanding. Ayes Drake, Wissler and Wilhelm; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to agree to and accept a proposal from the Law Firm of Johnson, Mulholland, Cochrane, Cochrane, Yung & Engler, P.L.C. to provide legal services for Sac County at the direction of the Sac County Board of Supervisors in connection with Drainage Districts under their supervision. Ayes all, motion carried.
After a brief discussion with Taylor Steinkamp, Sac County I.T. Director, the Board approved the purchase of KnowBe4 cyber security awareness software for $1,636.20.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve a tile crossing between Sections 15 and 22 in Wheeler Township. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to direct the Engineer to place a stop sign at the intersection of Voss Avenue and 270th Street to control the north bound traffic at that intersection. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board and the Engineer had a brief discussion concerning the dredging project on Black Hawk Lake. The Board will meet with a representative from the DNR at a later date.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
