The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Brent Wilhelm, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
Brian Blomme, the Three County Drainage Engineer, requested a committee be formed consisting of one member from each county Board as a drainage committee to expedite decisions for drainage work. It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler that the chairman of the Board be assigned to that committee each year. Ayes all, motion carried.
Mr. Blomme presented his proposed budget for the county drainage engineer for 2021/22. No action was taken. The Board will meet via teleconference with Buena Vista and Calhoun Counties on January 26 at 10:30 to discuss rate charges for drainage engineer, assistant drainage engineer and a fee for utility permits.
Brandy Ripley, SETD executive director, presented her budget for 21/22 with a request for an additional $5000, bringing that request to a total of $85000. No action was taken.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to direct the Region XII Council of Governments to update the Hazard Mitigation plan over a five-year period, using local funds only and paying 20% of the cost annually. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to designate The Chronicle and The Sac Sun as official county newspapers for 2021. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the drainage claims as presented. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the Substance Abuse Prevention Semi-annual report. Ayes all, motion carried.
Jane Barto, representing the Sac County Historical Society, presented a funding request of $11,095 for fiscal year 21/22 which included an additional $1585 for the Nemaha museum. No action was taken.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
