The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jim Wissler,
Chairman, presiding.
In the first order of business, it was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to appoint Mike Fischer as
Chairman for 2024. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda by removing any action on the
County's Safety Fund. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the minutes as submitted. Ayes all, motion
carried.
Dawn Mentzer, Rolling Hills Director, informed the Board that Leisa Mayer, Case Manager, will be retiring
on January 31, 2024. Her replacement is from Early, Iowa, Sac County will become her employer of record.
Several options for office space were discussed. No action was taken.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve a Memorandum of Understanding with Rolling
Hills regarding reimbursement from Rolling Hills Community Services Region for County Employees. Ayes all,
motion carried.
Katie Scheu Ike with the Department of Corrections updated the Board on case numbers and types of
offenses in Sac County.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to designate the Sac Sun and The Chronicle as official Sac
County newspapers for 2024. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler that each Supervisors remain on the same committees as
in 2023. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the following holiday closings for 2024:
January 15 - Martin Luther King Day, February 19 - Presidents Day, March 29, Friday before Easter (close at Noon),
May 27 - Memorial Day, July 4 - Independence Day, September 2 - Labor Day, November 11-Veteran's Day,
November 28 & 29 -Thanksgiving, December 24 & 25 - Christmas Eve and Christmas, January 1, 2025 - New
Year's Day. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to adopt Sac County's confinement feeding operations
Resolution #24-0102 pursuant to Iowa Code 459.304(3). Ayes Drake, Wissler and Fischer, nays none, motion
carried.
No action was taken on considering the condemnation compensation commission.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve amending an ARP application to include
$672.59 for installation of an emergency generator at the Lake View Ambulance shed. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the Sheriff's quarterly report for the quarter
ending December 31, 2023. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to accept a letter of resignation submitted by E911
Coordinator Bobbie Wells. Ayes all, motion carried. The Board wished to thank Ms. Wells for her years of service
to Sac County.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in
the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer submitted his report via email to the Board.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
