The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Mike Fischer,
Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion
carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to abate the taxes on Lot 4, Block 39, Fourth Addition to
the Town of Odebolt, in the amount of $4,199.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in
the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
Several librarians from around Sac County presented their annual report of activities in the libraries for
23/24 and requested a 5% increase in funding. No action was taken.
Jane Barto was present to address the Board regarding the yearly review of the Sac County Historical
Society and requested funding in the amount of $11,095, the same as for the 23/24 fiscal year. No action was
taken.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to change the claims policy to consider approval every
Tuesday instead of every first and third Tuesday in order to avoid penalties and late fees on certain bills. Ayes
all, motion carried.
At the request of the County Attorney and the County Sheriff, it was moved by Wissler and seconded by
Drake to approve an application for American Rescue Plan funds in the amount of $25,000 as reward for
information leading to the location of David Schultz, the missing truck driver. Ayes all, motion carried. This
reward money will be available through November 2024, due to ARP regulations.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to appoint Kaitlin Geake as Levy Township Clerk, Jeff
Schroeder, and Josh Blair as Levy Township Trustees to fill vacancies. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current
maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the retainage payment to Richards
Construction in the amount of $5,797.40 for Project L- ED 0609 - - 73- 81, a box culvert on Esther Ave. Ayes all,
motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve a payment policy of 7.1 times the current
values listed by the Sac County Assessor and a fence removal/ replacement compensation schedule as
follows: barb wire removal - $9.00/Rod, woven wire - $32.00/rod, replacement of fence- barb wire - $25.00/rod,
woven wire /barb wire - $32.0/rod. Wooden fence and ornamental fence will be evaluated and paid for on an
individual basis. $125.00 per additional corner and double brace post assembly, at a jog in R.O.W. and $85.00
per additional corner and single brace post assembly at intersecting fence. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to accept the low bid of $202,213.25 submitted by
Peterson Contractors, Inc for Project L-CO-1803- 73- 81, a twin box culvert on Buchanan Ave between 240th
• Street and 250th St. ayes all, motion carried.
Brandy Wilson, SETD Executive Director and Jim Gossett from Raccoon Valley REC were present to
discuss funding for a well to be drilled on the property at the intersection of Highways 20 and 71. An application
for $50,000 from the ARPA fund was submitted for consideration. No action was taken.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
