The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with two members present. Ranell Drake was absent. Brent Wilhelm, Chairman, presided over the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board, Sheriff and Dave Jennett, acting County Attorney, reviewed the contract with Motorola regarding the communications project. Supervisor Drake joined the meeting at this point via telephone. Mr. Jennett pointed out several changes that were made to the original contract and recommended that the Board sign the revised contract.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution #21-0615A, authorizing the Chairman and the Auditor to execute and accept the contract for a communications project with Motorola Company. Ayes Drake, Wissler and Wilhelm; nays none, motion carried.
Supervisor Drake left the meeting at this point.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to adopt Resolution #21-0615B, authorizing the use of a preliminary official statement in connection with the sale of General Obligation Emergency Services Communication Equipment Bonds, Series 2021. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board will consider advantages and disadvantages of combining the current debt service with the new bond for the communications project.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to re-appoint Ron Feilmeier to another three-year term as a Sac County Veteran’s Affairs Commissioner. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to renew the substance abuse prevention services agreement and name Renee Roland as signatory for Sac County. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 71, Lee Drain, located in Section 28, Jackson Township, in the amount of $500.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 80, located in Section 36, Coon Valley Township, in the amount of $700.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve and sign a letter of engagement for Hunzelman, Putzier & Co for the 2019/20 annual audit of Sac County. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the drainage claims as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
Dr. Jim Bullock, Sac County EMA Director, addressed the Board concerning the possible purchase of a Ford motor home that’s been converted into a mobile command center. The vehicle is for sale through on line bidding until June 23, 2021. The Board instructed Dr. Bullock to continue to watch the bidding and report back on Tuesday, June 22. No action was taken at this time.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
