The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jim Wissler, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to canvass the June 2nd primary election. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board took up the canvass for the June 2, 2020 Primary election and offer the following results; For U.S. Senator, Joni Ernst (R) – 1,706*, Michael Franken (D) – 78, Kimberly Graham (D) – 44,Theresa Greenfield (D) – 304*, Eddie J. Mauro (D) – 34, Cal Woods (D) – 5; U.S. Representative District 4, Randy Feenstra (R) – 535, Steve King (R) – 978, Steven Reeder (R) – 46, Bret A. Richards (R) – 122, Jeremy Taylor (R) – 215, J.D. Scholten (D) – 457*, State Senator District 6, Heath Hansen (R) – 548, Craig Steven Williams (R) – 992*, C. J. Petersen (D) – 413*, State Representative District 11, Gary Worthan (R) – 1625*, James Eliason (D) – 103, Sara Huddleston (D) – 324*, County Supervisor District 1, Ranell Drake (R) – 510*, County Auditor, James W. Dowling (R) – 1,720*, County Sheriff, Kenneth W. McClure (R) – 1,219*, Royce Kemmann (R) – 729.
There were 6 provisional ballots accepted in the canvass. Eleven absentee ballots were rejected due to a late postmark and 6 absentee ballots were rejected because of no signature.
Sherrie Wilson, Sac County Planning and Zoning Administrator advised the Board as a result of new legislation, there are three vacancies on the P & Z Board. Other new legislation was discussed as well.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a revised liquor license application submitted by Cielito Lindo Mexican Restaurant. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve a three year contract with Cost Advisory Services, Inc for providing professional consulting services through fiscal year 2022. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
