The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Wissler and
Fischer present and Drake via telephone. Supervisor Fischer chaired the meeting. The minutes of
the meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to amend the agenda to include a
conversation with Jim Bullock, Sac County EMS Director. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes
all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the
status of current maintenance and construction projects. There was further discussion on the
D.O.T.'s proposal to do some compaction testing by rolling certain gravel roads in Sac County. No
action was taken.
The Sac County Sheriff and Sac County I.T. Coordinator presented a proposal to the Board
to upgrade the security cameras in the interrogation rooms in the law enforcement center and
some server issues. The Sheriff explained that there was approximately $48000 in the local
commissary fund which could be used for security purposes. It was moved by Wissler and
seconded by Fischer to approve the use of the commissary funds to pay for the upgrades in the law
enforcement center. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to proclaim the Month of April as National
Child Abuse Prevention month in Sac County. Ayes all, motion carried. The proclamation was
delivered to the Board of Supervisors by the East Sac County School third graders.
Jim Bullock, Sac County EMS Coordinator, advised the Board of a reunification exercise to
be held mid-summer which would include a scenario of a school bus accident. Bullock requested
$600 for reunification material for the exercise. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to
approve the request. Ayes all, motion carried.
Tom Scheutz from The Alera Group, third party administrator for Sac County employees'
group health care coverage, was present to continue discussions on renewal.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to renew coverage for the county group
health care and accept the proposal submitted by Iowa Governmental Health Care Plan. Ayes all,
motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the claims as listed on the
claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
