The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Brent Wilhelm, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to amend the agenda to consider a letter of resignation. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board met via telephone conference with the Boards of Supervisors from Buena Vista and Calhoun Counties to consider the position of assistant to the County Drainage Engineer for the three counties. Brian Blomme, County Drainage Engineer for the three counties submitted the name of Eric Yunginger as his recommendation for the position. Each county approved the recommendation on individual vote by county subject to Mr. Yunginger passing the Physical Capacity Profile with a starting date of March 22, 2021.
Jim Smith approached the Board during the Citizen Input portion of the meeting for clarification of the new laws pertaining to the carrying of concealed weapons in the courthouse. the Chairman offered to check with the Sheriff and County Attorney’s office and contact Mr. Smith with a response.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to accept the letter of resignation submitted by County Treasurer Kris Babcock effective April 13, 2021. Ayes all, motion carried. The Board will decide whether to appoint someone to fill the position or call for a special election.
The Chairman opened the public hearing to consider an amendment to the current county budget for year ending June 30, 2021. The County Auditor explained the reasons for the amendment: communications project, IT department funding and Mental Heath adjustments. The Revenue adjustment was $300,000 and total expenditure adjustments were $460,496. There was no one present to object to or support the amendment.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to close the public hearing. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve application for commercial urban revitalization tax exemption submitted by Cominco Fertilizer Partnership located at 1817 Karr Ave, Early, Iowa. Ayes all, motion carried
