The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Brent Wilhelm, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to consider a Resolution Supporting the Application for Iowa DOT Covid-19 Relief Recreational Trails Program. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
Tina Roth, Sac County Treasurer, updated the Board that Paul Strong has taken necessary action with the City of Sac City regarding special assessments on a property and the Board agreed that, per their agreement on November 17, 2020, the Board will abate the taxes on Parcel #810723101265.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to adopt the Resolution Authorizing the Filing of an Application for the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Covid-19 Relief Recreational Trails Program for the Engineering, Specifications and Construction of the Grant Park Trail, Phase 2 in the Areas of the County Between the Incorporated Limits of the City of Auburn To, and Within, Grant Park, which shows their support of the project. Drake – aye. Wissler – aye. Wilhelm – aye. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to make a pledge from the Special Projects Fund in this regard in the amount of $5,000.00 for FY21 and $5,000.00 for FY22, as matching funds for the Grant. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Sac County Ordinance No 21-0511-2, an Ordinance to Assist County Officials Control of the Public Health and Safety Issues Created by the Infusion of a Large Number of People in the County for Organized Events. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to waive the second and third readings of Sac County Ordinance No 21-0511-2. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt a Resolution to establish a three-member temporary redistricting commission pursuant to Iowa Code 331.210A and appointing Steve Allen, Jory Hemer and Tonya Ramsey to the Sac County Temporary Redistricting Commission. Drake – aye. Wissler – aye. Wilhelm – aye. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to adopt a Resolution Authorizing the Gift of County Property to Sac City, Iowa, Needed for Public Purposes and Notice of Public Hearing to Gift County Property and Date for Public Hearing, and to set said hearing for May 25, 2021, at 10:00am in the Sac County Supervisor’s office. Drake – aye. Wissler – aye. Wilhelm – aye. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to appoint Brenda Schoneboom as Sac County Representative to the Region XII Regional Housing Authority Board of Directors, replacing Frank Strain, with a new term from May 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wissler to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 33, located in Section 2, Jackson Township, Sac County in the amount of $3,400. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer sent a written update for the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
