The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jim Wissler, chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve an employment contract between Brian W. Blomme, PE, and the Counties of Buena Vista, Calhoun and Sac for Mr. Blomme’s services as County Drainage Engineer for a period beginning May, 2020 through June, 2022. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to re-appoint Richard Petschauer to the Sac County Veteran’s Affairs Commission for a three-year term. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve renewal of a substance abuse prevention and treatment contract with New Opportunities of Carroll and name Deputy Auditor Renee Roland as signatory for Sac County. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve an amendment to workorder number P2020-018, a proposed open ditch repair in Joint DD 181Main Open Ditch located in Section 10, Cedar Township, Sac County in the amount of $500.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve a proposed open ditch repair to DD 86 located in Section 14, Cedar Township in the amount of $800.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Drake to approve the drainage claims as submitted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to approve the purchase of a new Caterpillar Model 320 Excavator to replace the damaged machine at a cost of $197,000 with trade. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board and the Auditor discussed the Covid 19 situation. The Auditor updated the Board on discussions with department heads regarding opening the courthouse and annex. Guidelines for opening are being developed and will be presented at the next board meeting.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Wilhelm to tentatively plan to open the courthouse to the public at noon on June 4, 2020. Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
