The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jim
Wissler, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all,
motion carried.
Taylor Egesdal, County Environmental Specialist, discussed some issues with the county vehicle
which she uses in her work. The Board discussed moving a used vehicle from Uniform Patrol to her
department. No action was taken.
The Board of Supervisors took up a conversation regarding whether or not to proceed with
making the Sac County Ambulance an essential service. The question would have to be presented on
the ballot in November of 2024. The Auditor was directed to present a timeline of things that need to
be done prior to the question being placed on the ballot.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the claims as listed on the claims
register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve a claim for services on Joint Drainage
District 59 Calhoun and 7 Sac in the amount of $1,700,00. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the drainage claims as presented.
Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of
current maintenance and construction projects. The Engineer advised the Board of a $475,000 grant
available through the Iowa D.O.T. for railroad reconstruction on County Road N28. No action was taken.
The Board took up the second tier canvass for the City/School election held November 7, 2023
and offer the following results: City of Lytton, Mayor-Jeff Ellerbrock -16*, Jeff Townsend -15; City
Council - Paul Toms- 33*, Jeff Townsend - 20*, Larry Coon - 30*, Nicole Meyer- 33*, Faith Worley-
31 *; Schaller Crestland School Director At-Large - Blake Woodke - 601 *; Schaller Crestland Director
District 1- Kory Blum - 610*; Schaller Crestland Director District 2 - Cory Tiefenthaler- 673*; Schaller
Crestland Public Measure SS - YES -274, NO - 499*; Schaller Crestland Public Measure ST-YES -271, NO
- 502*; East Sac School Director At-Large- Mark Allen Jansma815*, Jackie Mahler- 803*, Laurie Kluver
- 825*.
