Jailer - Overnight
Sac County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time overnight jailer.
Candidate can expect to work 11.43-hour shifts with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. The open shift is from 8:00pm to 7:25am with flexibility to cover other shifts as needed. Successful applicants must have strong character and be willing to work with a wide variety of individuals in custody at the Sac County Jail. Applicant should have knowledge of windows-based programs, be able to work alone as well as with others, and be self-motivated. Applicant must be 18-years of age and have no felony convictions. Starting hourly rate is 21.98/hour. Benefits include: employee health insurance with the option for family insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation, paid sick leave, and participation in IPERS (Iowa Public Employees Retirement System).
Duties include: booking inmates in and out of jail, supervising inmates, accompanying inmates to court, dispensing medications, preparing meals, laundry, light cleaning, interacting with law enforcement, court personnel, and inmates. Daily duties will require the employee to walk up and down stairs multiple times per shift.
