Inmate Visitation

All regular visits to Sac County Jail are conducted in person. Visitors must call the jail to schedule an appointment. When it’s time to visit, you must show up 10 minutes ahead of time.

Visitation times are set for 10 minutes. Your scheduled visit may be cancelled or suspended without notice based on discipline or security reasons. Visitations will be allowed Tuesday through Saturday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Exceptions are the lunch period between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and the dinner period between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Attorneys and/or law enforcement officers who have a professional need to contact an inmate in-person should contact the jail to make arrangements for visitation.

How to schedule a visit

• Contact the jail between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm for an appointment at 712-662-7127 at least 24 hours in advance.
• Request the date and time for the visit.
• Provide staff with personal information.
• Arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time.
• Provide a U.S government-issued photo ID indicating date of birth (driver's license, state ID, Military ID, Passport, etc.,)
• Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Only two visitors at a time.
• Anyone who has been incarcerated in the Sac County Jail within the previous twelve (12) months will not be allowed to visit anyone currently in the Sac County Jail.
• No visitation on Holidays.
