Minutes for March 22, 2022

The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding.  The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
                It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to amend the agenda to consider a request for funding from the Jackson Township Trustees.  Ayes all, motion carried.
                It was moved b y Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as amended.  Ayes all, motion carried.
                Jim Bullock, Sac County EMA Director, updated the Board on equipping the mobile command unit with computers and a light tower.  Bullock suggested that he would pay to have a 50 amp plug-in installed at his home in order to keep the unit at a constant heat to protect the computer and equipment.
  There was some discussion about selling the old ambulance that was used for a mobile command center.  The Board will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, April 12 to consider the disposition of County property.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to approve final retainage payment for Project STP-S-Co81 (69)—5E-81, PCC pavement on County Road D-15.  Ayes all, motion carried.
At 10:30, the Chairman opened the public hearing on the proposed maximum levy for the 22/23 budget.  There was no one present to support or oppose the proposed limits.
It was moved b y Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to close the public hearing.  Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Wilhelm to adopt Resolution 22-0322, establishing the maximum levy rate for 2022/23 General Basic at 22.32% higher than the 2021/22 levy rate and the Rural Basic levy rate 1/76% lower for 2022/23 than the 2021/22 levy rate.  Ayes Wissler, Wilhelm and Drake; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Wilhelm and seconded by Wissler to table a decision on funding for the Jackson Township Trustees until a later date.  Ayes all, motion carried.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
