Minutes for July 15, 2025

 The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding.  Supervisor Wissler was absent. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.

                It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all, motion carried.

                It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to recommend the Construction Permit Application for Prairie View Farms confinement feeding operation located in Section 17, Delaware Township, and provide a recommendation letter to the DNR.  Ayes all, motion carried.

                It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve a construction permit for James Pierce to construct a pole shed at 3284 Fox Ave, Odebolt. Ayes all, motion carried.

The Board reviewed a copy of the building permit for Field Ready Ag & Chem LLC at 2355 330th St, Wall Lake.  This permit was approved by the Sac County Board of Adjustment and is provided for informational purposes.

                County Attorney, Ben Smith, and MidAmerican Energy representatives had a discussion regarding a proposal to resolve the permitting issue for their solar project.  Discussion centered around particulars to be addressed in the agreement that will be drafted.  There was no action taken and the item was tabled for the July 22, 2025, meeting.

                Sac County Trails Committee, represented by Lance Wilhelm, presented an update to the Board including proposed trail locations, commitments to the trails by the City of Sac City and possible funding sources and grants.  Sac City has committed to construction and maintenance of some portions of the trail and construction on those areas is planned to begin yet this summer.  There was no action taken.

                The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects, including bid lettings, gravel project, N-28 repairs and bridge bidding.  No action was taken.

It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the claims as presented in the amount of $1,864,036.06.  Ayes all, motion carried.

                With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting adjourned.
