Minutes for August 5, 2025
The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Ranell Drake, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the agenda as posted.
Ayes all, motion carried.
Sheriff Jonathon Meyer presented an update on estimates for the proposed new jail.
The discussion centered around a figure of 12.5 million dollars for construction.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to proceed with that number to be included in the question to be placed on the ballot in November. Ayes all, motion carried.
Representatives from the John Chriss Trust were present seeking permission to place a decorative steel tree in the Monument Square. The group shared a picture of the tree and suggested it be placed in the southeast corner of the square.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the project for the monument square. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to accept the low bid of $213,471.00 submitted by Richards Construction for projects LFM-Rl-3201-7X-81, L-LE- 3103-73-81 and L-BV-2107-73-81, all three bridge abutment bent pile projects. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve an application for renewal of liquor license submitted by Terri W. Rininger, DBA Midnight Sun. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve a three-month extension on the current moratorium on a utility scale solar ordinance. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve assessments on the following Sac County drainage districts; DD 34-15%, DD 57, MOD- 91%, DD 57-Lat 1 - 33%, DD 57, Lat 1A-69%, DD 57, Lat 2A-13%, DD 57 Lat 2B-93%, DD 57, Lat 3-60%, DD 57, Lat 3A-126%, DD 57, Lat 3B- 72%, DD 57, Lat 4- 38%, DD 57, Branch B-15%, DD
57, Branch C- 68%, DD 57, Branch 0-634%, DD 73 MOD-173% and DD 73 Main Tile - 265%. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Wissler to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
