Minutes for September 2, 2025
The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with two members present. Ranell Drake was absent; Mike Fischer chaired the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the agenda as posted.
Ayes all, motion carried.
During the citizens input section of the meeting, Curtis Bloes asked about the status of Sheriff Meyer. The questions were directed to the County Attorney.
Representatives from Mid-American Energy were present to update the Board on progress on the Auburn Solar farm. No action was taken.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to authorize Ben Ringennberg to sign and approve claims submitted for Medical Examiners expenses in the absence of Dr. Pek. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
At 10:30, the Chairman opened the public hearing on County Ordinance No. 43.0, an ordinance establishing requirements for utility-scale solar energy systems in Sac County. Attendees included Sac County Planning & Zoning officer, three Mid-American Energy representatives, Scott Jacobs, Calhoun County Supervisor and adjacent landowner to the project, Brian Blomme, Sac County Drainage Engineer and members of the press.
Questions regarding a 500-acre cap in Sac County, timeline requirements, drainage issues and road use permits were brought forward.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Fischer to close the public hearing at 11:05 and to reschedule a second hearing for Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 10:30. Ayes all, motion carried.
There was no report from the County Engineer.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting adjourned.
