Minutes for November 18, 2025
The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Drake and Wissler present, Fischer was absent. Ran ell Drake, Chairman, presided over the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to amend the agenda to include teleconferences with Buena Vista, Calhoun and Pocahontas Counties regarding drainage memorandums of understanding. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board took up the second tier canvass of the November 4, 2025 city/school election and offer the following results; City of Lytton; Mayor-Jeff Ellerbrock, 47; For City Council at large - Nicole Meyer, 58, Brenda Wiederin - 32, Jeff Townsend - 50, Darsi Denise Huddleson -61, Larry Coon - 51, Wendy Miller-31; For Schaller-Crestland School Director District 1; Matt Cress-377. For Director District 2; Steven R. Mason- 399. For East Sac School; Jim Wallace -1,207, Jon E. Quinn - 593, Kimble Bromley- 504, Kyle Leners- 832, Public Measure SS-Yes-1,000, No- 794.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects.
On the recommendation of County Engineer, it was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to approve hiring Jeff Rench in the secondary roads department. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board of Supervisors met via teleconference with the Supervisors from Buena Vista and Calhoun Counties to discuss a memorandum of understanding for claims against joint drains. It was moved by Wissler and seconded by George that Ranell Drake serve as chairman and Renee Roland serve as secretary. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by George (Calhoun) and seconded by Wissler (Sac) to approve and adopt the Joint Drainage District MOU for joint drains between Buena Vista, Sac and Calhoun Counties. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler (Sac) and seconded by Ridgely (Calhoun) to adjourn. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Boards of Supervisors from Sac and Buena Vista Counties met to discuss a memorandum of understanding for claims against joint drainage districts in the two counties.
It was moved by Wissler (Sac) and seconded by Merten (Buena Vista) that Ranell Drake serve as chairman and Renee Roland serve as secretary. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler (Sac) and seconded by Ringgenberg (Buena Vista) to approve and adopt the joint drainage district MOU for joint drains between Sac and Buena Vista Counties. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Merten to adjourn. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Boards of Supervisors from Sac, Buena Vista and Pocahontas Counties met to discuss a memorandum of understanding for claims against joint drainage districts in the three counties. It was moved by Stauter (Pocahontas) and seconded by Drake (Sac) that Paul Merten (B.V.) serve as chairman and Sue Lloyd serve as secretary. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake (Sac) and seconded by Snyder (B.V.) to approve and adopt the Drainage District Memorandum of Understanding. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler (Sac) and seconded by Smith (Pocahontas) to adjourn. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution 2025-111 BA, adopting the Memorandum of Understanding between Sac, Buena Vista and Calhoun Counties regarding joint drainage districts. Ayes Drake and Wissler, Nays none, motion carried. Fischer absent.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution 2025-111 BB, adopting the Memorandum of Understanding between Sac and Buena Vista Counties regarding joint drainage districts. Ayes Drake and Wissler; nays none, motion carried. Fischer was absent.
It was moved by Wissler and seconded by Drake to adopt Resolution 2025-111 BC, adopting the Memorandum of Understanding between Buena Vista, Sac and Pocahontas Counties regarding joint drainage districts. Ayes Drake and Wissler; nays none, motion carried. Fischer was absent.
Representatives from the Family Crisis Center were present to review the annual report for that agency for fiscal year and a funding request for 26/27 in the amount of $5,000. No action was taken.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
