Minutes for January 6, 2026
The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jim Wissler, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to recognize the following courthouse closings for 2026 holidays: January 19- Martin Luther King day, February 16-President's Day, April 3- close at noon for Friday before Easter, May 25 - Memorial Day, July 3- Independence Day, September 7- Labor Day, November 11 -Veteran's Day, November 26 & 27- Thanksgiving, December 24-Christmas Eve, December 25- Christmas Day, January 1, 2027- New Year's Day. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to table any action on an amendment to the current lease agreement with Verizon for tower space lease. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the Recorder's quarterly report for the quarter ending December 31, 2025. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve the Sheriff's quarterly report for the quarter ending December 31, 2025. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to adopt Resolution 2026-0106, adopting the Construction Evaluation Resolution pursuant to Iowa Code Section 459.304(3), pertaining to animal confinement buildings. Ayes Drake, Fischer, Wissler; nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to appoint Terry Neville of rural Kiron as Wheeler Township Trustee to fill a vacancy when Pat Scanlon retired. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the Auditor's office. Ayes all, motion carried.
There was no report from the County Engineer.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
