Minutes for February 10, 2026
The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jim Wissler, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to approve the agenda as posted.
Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve a Proposed Tile Investigation in Sections 14 & 15, Douglas Township, being part of JT DD 16-30-92, with an estimated cost of $2,500.00 Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to approve claims, as listed on the claims register in the Auditor's office in the amount of $76,658.27. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to adopt and approve a letter of support for SpArC to apply for a BOOST (Building Ownership and Organization by Strengthening Teams) grant offered by the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Center for Rural Revitalization. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects, including the river bridge near Grant City is progressing, a bridge project is ready to begin in Jackson Township and blading roads continues with the good weather.
After an update from Sheriff Stange regarding information regarding the tower lease, it was moved by Fischer and seconded by Drake to table any action on an amendment to the current lease agreement with Verizon for tower space lease until February 17, 2026. Ayes all, motion carried.
Eric Yunginger, Drainage Watchman, updated the Board as to requirements of SF593 for the Auditor’s office to provide drainage district information on parcels in Sac County to the County Recorder. It was moved by Drake and seconded by Fischer to authorize ISG to complete a data request in this regard. Ayes all, motion carried.
